Amanzoe: The Peaceful Life

A hilltop resort offering splendid 360° panoramic views of the area

LOCATION

At Aghios Panteleimonas, on the east coast of the Peloponnese, overlooking the picturesque island of Spetses and the Argosaronic Gulf beyond, just a 10-minute drive from bustling Porto Heli.

BACKGROUND

Amanzoe, drawing its name from the Sanskrit-derived word for “peace” and zoe, the Greek word for “life” is a hilltop resort offering 360° panoramic views of the surrounding olive groves, valleys and Aegean Sea. Ideally placed for exploring the region’s natural attractions and rich culture, the resort’s design has been inspired by classical Greek architecture, incorporating colonnaded walkways, serene garden courtyards and even an amphitheater.

FEATURES

Amanzoe’s 38 Pavilions and Villas are classical in inspiration and contemporary in attitude. Designed to give a sense of seamless living between indoor and outdoor, all their areas open onto terraces with private pools and views of the surrounding countryside and sea. The Pavilions are of two kinds depending on the size of their pool, while Villas vary according to number of rooms and feature a dedicated chef and host. There’s also the option of the Beach Cabanas, which are located on the beach and come with pool, terrace and direct access to the Aegean shoreline.

The resort features swimming pools, a library, a boutique, an amphitheatre used for hosting performances as well as private events such as dinners and cocktail parties, an events pavilion, offering state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for hosting board meetings or conferences, a spa, and a beach club.

The Aman Spa, designed as a peaceful sanctuary, features treatment pavilions with sunken bathtubs, steam rooms and relaxation areas, a Watsu pool, a Thai massage room and a salon for hairstyling, manicures and pedicures, a fitness center, a yoga pavilion and a Pilates studio.

The private beach club, set on a scenic bay just a 10-minute drive from the resort, features two 25-meter lap pools, a dining area and a bar. Water sports equipment is available and guests can explore the bay and nearby islands on private boating excursions.

FOOD & DRINK

Amanzoe’s emphasis is on Greek and Mediterranean dishes prepared with seasonal produce and local ingredients, such as fish from local fishermen and lamb, pork and rabbit reared in the area. Meals are served in the restaurant, fronted by an expansive terrace for al fresco dining, on the pool terrace, in the informal beach club, or surrounded by candles in the private pavilions.

If in the mood for a drink, try one of the resort’s cocktails inspired by the 12 Olympian Gods while enjoying the sunset at the central bar or outdoor fireplace.
