There are long-lasting love affairs and there are passing flings. Dior’s relationship with Greece belongs to the former category. Following a much-hyped, globally publicized Dior Cruise 2022 show in Athens last June, the venerable French maison recently unveiled a new chapter in its ongoing love story with Greece.
The 36th issue of the luxury house’s Dior Magazine features the work of 10 Greek women photographers as they capture the spirit, and the crafted details, of the Cruise ‘22 collection developed by Dior creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Shot on location on the Cycladic island of Milos, the images explore the fluid collection’s bold feminine spirit and classical inspiration, including fresh takes on the ancient “peplos.” According to Dior, the photos pay tribute to identity and solidarity through cultural dialogues and multifaceted expressions of femininity.
The magazine follows the launch of the Cruise 2022 campaign shot at the Temple of Zeus in Nemea and, of course, the June mega catwalk show at the Greek capital’s Panathenaic Stadium. It also reinforces the long-standing ties between Dior and Greece, ties that can be traced to 1951, when a team of models and Dior staff walked up the Acropolis for what became an iconic photoshoot of Christian Dior haute couture garments by Jean-Pierre Pedrazzini for French publication Paris Match.
