“We want to further develop our close relationships with Greece and I am optimistic about the 2021 season,” said Sebastian Ebel, a senior executive and board member of the German TUI Group, following a meeting with the Greek Minister of Tourism, Haris Theoharis.
“Greece has created a framework for the safe resumption of tourism,” he continued. “This has allowed us to continue to offer visitors unique travel experiences in Greece this year. The country has prepared well for the resumption and operation of its tourism. This proves that you can offer wonderful holiday experiences while also ensuring the health and safety of visitors, employees and locals in all tourist destinations.”

The meeting noted that Greece was ranked as the most popular tourist destinations by TUI customers, had achieved an important increase in its the market share within the German travel group and that its tourist season was being extended due to high demand.
Due to this high demand, TUI has already extended this year’s season until the end of November, while Ebel expressed the TUI Group’s intention to further expand its business activities in Greece.
Both men also discussed other matters relating to the current tourist season and expressed their optimism that 2021 would also see a significant demand for tourism services in Greece.
