Over 10% of British Travelers Heading to Greece in 2022

As another positive omen for tourism this year, Greece is ranked as one of British traveler’s top choices among tourist destinations worldwide.

According to research conducted by low-cost airline Easyjet, most Brits are eager to compensate for the trips they missed out on due to the pandemic over the past two years, by traveling more in 2022. As a result, as many as 55% of British nationals are expected to travel more than usual this year, while one third are planning to spend at least £1.000 (€1.198) more on their trips.

As far as destinations go, Greece is their fifth most popular destination for this summer, according to the ABTA travel association. 10.1% of British travelers will be heading to Greek destinations – both on the islands and on the mainland.

It’s important to note that Greece depends largely on tourism from the UK – the partial loss of which was felt over the past two years.

Topping the list of the most popular destinations for 2022 among Brits is Spain, where 29.3% of travelers are planning to visit, followed by the USA, France and Italy. Following Greece on the list are Portugal and Germany.
