The Jazz Chronicles continue their journey, bringing to the Agora and the Panoramic Steps some of the most enchanting female vocalists of Greek jazz. Every week, concerts and musical offerings present a kaleidoscope of notes for visitors to enjoy.
Gadjo Dilo

Gadjo Dilo have successfully combined the musical genius of gypsy swing’s legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt with Greek musical output of the ’50s and ’60s, creating their own musical style, the ‘Manouche De Grec’.
On stage, the group interacts with the audience by capturing the magic of the gypsy jazz tradition while simultaneously conveying a decidedly Greek element.
They also revisit the classics of American jazz as well as French songs from the interwar period. At the moment, Gadjo Dilo are working full steam ahead on their second album which they expect to release in November
Eva & the Apples

Since they first emerged, Eva & the Apples have firmly established themselves on the city’s arts scene as a band offering musical escapades, with swing, Latin and dance jazz. This year, Eva & the Apples welcome us to their wandering cabaret, with songs carefully garnered from all around the world. The group’s sensual approach and Eva’s theatrical interpretation will send you dancing into a universe of French, Portuguese and Anglo-American rhythms.
Angelika Dusk

Angelika Dusk makes a dynamic comeback on stage to unravel new aspects of her personality and explore new artistic paths.
 
Through her music and verse, she, realistically, describes the challenges of living on the edge, which is where her truth lies. In an electrifying interpretation, Angelika Dusk presents songs from her upcoming album, and selections from the pop, rock and indie music scene.
Swing Shoes ft. Sugahspank

Sugahspank, who hails from Piraeus, launched her recording career with the solo album, The incredible, The invisible (2008), winning over a Greek and international audience. The Swing Shoes established themselves after the release of their first album in 2010, playing a mix of gypsy swing and traditional music. For the past five years, they have collaborated with Sugahspank! to perform blues and gospel, and to compose original material. Grounded in spontaneity and experimentation, they have created a slick and authentic soundscape.
Sera Bellos Quintet

Drummer Serapheim Bellos’ band of talented musicians constitutes a significant presence on the local scene. For their frontwoman, they have chosen Greek-Jamaican Xenia Dania, still at the beginning of her career, whose enchanting vocals and stage presence never fail to make a strong impression. Their wide repertoire includes favorite jazz classics with a modern touch, and selections from bossa, reggae, latin, jazz and soul.
Σtella
Saturday, November 19 | 21.00 | PANORAMIC STEPS
Σtella (Stella Chronopoulou) is a composer, singer, musician and painter. Her first album in early 2015, aptly titled Σtella, came out on Inner Ear Records, one of the year’s most successful Greek indie pop labels, with the tracks Detox and Picking Words getting an especially warm reception on radio stations. Apart from her personal work, she has collaborated since 2014 with ΝΤΕIΒΙΝΤ, with three releases on the Belgian label Eskimo Recordings.
 
In May 2015, they jointly composed the musical score for the athletes’ parade during the opening ceremony of the first European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. At the beginning of 2016, Σtella released Works for You, the first single from her upcoming second album, expected to come out at the end of the year.
Penny Baltatzi

Penny Baltatzi, the leading musician of Penny and the Swingin’ Cats, introduces herself with songs, old and new, which showcase the jazzy, swinging side of her talent. Penny and her five-member band, who seem as if they have jumped out of a ’40s movie, will unfold a musical ‘magic carpet’ for a journey through the world of song with stops at well-known Greek and foreign ports of call.
Daphne and the Fuzz

The band came together in the summer of 2012 in Athens and gave form and style to pieces which Daphne had been composing as a solo artist on piano. In the spring of 2016, their first album, named after the band, was released by Inner Ear.
Vintage pop melodies that dabble in soul and blues, groovy bass lines and dreamy Mellotron orchestrations are combined with verse that talks about love, coming of age, expectations and great dreams. They have performed at many festivals and on music stages in Athens.
