At the end of April, the historic “Olympos Naoussa” mansion on Thessaloniki’s iconic waterfront avenue will reopen its doors to guests as a 60-room hotel and restaurant for the first time in 28 years.
A luxury hotel consortium, led by Grivalia Hospitality and Tor Hotel Group, has overseen a comprehensive reconstruction of the listed building into a luxury boutique hotel, the ON Residence.

Originally designed by the renowned architect Jacques Mosse in 1926, the imposing Olympos Naoussa mansion combined decorative and architectural elements of the belle époque and neoclassical periods. It drew its name from the popular brewery that once operated at the site. From 1927 to 1994, the waterfront building was a focal point for Thessaloniki’s elite and overseas visitors seeking 5-star accommodation, housing a reservations only restaurant that became famous throughout Europe for its exquisite fine dining.
Today, the Olympos Naoussa mansion is reborn as the ultimate in luxury hospitality, with 60 suites and rooms, and its emblematic restaurant, which, once again, aims to become a gastronomic landmark of the city.
As a listed building, the modernization works were carried out in strict accordance with the recommendations of the Ephorate of Modern Monuments and Technical Works of Central Macedonia, part of the Greek Ministry of Culture.

“It is a great pleasure for all of us at Grivalia Hospitality to see our projects take shape. Olympos Naoussa, a historic landmark for the city of Thessaloniki, returns more beautiful than ever, to become again a point of reference for the local community and for the luxury hospitality sector in our country. ON Residence is of great importance to us, as it is our first integrated project of tourism development which was done exactly as we imagined it and even better. Together with the Tornivoukas family, we created something unique, and we are sure that everyone who visits it will feel the same. As a company, we will continue to invest in high quality developments, with respect to the natural landscape and heritage of each region, upgrading the tourism product of our country and setting new high standards in the luxury tourism industry,” said George Chrysikos, Founder and President of The Board of Directors of Grivalia Hospitality.
“Everyone in the big family of TOR Hotel Group is very proud and happy for Olympos Naoussa. After about thirty years, it opens its doors again offering a high-quality urban Greek cuisine to its customers, but also a unique hospitality experience based on the highest hotel standards, something guaranteed by our almost 100-year history in hospitality of high standards. On Residence and Olympos Naoussa restaurant are not just a luxury hotel and a restaurant. It is a revival of a monument with a huge history, an offer for the city of Thessaloniki, but also for Greece in general. With the cooperation of Grivalia Hospitality, through Mr. Chrysikos, with whom we share common values and goals in the quality of construction and the provision of services, we managed to bring it back brighter than ever and offer it to the city and its visitors from all over the world,” noted Konstantinos Tornivoukas, CEO of Tor Hotel Group.
Meanwhile, Grivalia Hospitality has five other hotel projects currently under development, which, on completion, will exceed 800 million euros. These include the Asteria Glyfada resort, the Killada Hills in Porto Heli, the upgrading of the Piperi Hotel on Paros, the Meli Palace in Crete, and the ongoing Blue project in Mykonos.

The company is currently overseeing the transfer of its headquarters from Luxembourg to Athens, a move that signals its confidence in the future prospects of luxury tourism in Greece.
