The Athens’ bar scene’s pride and joy, The Clumsies, took home yet another award on Saturday. This time, it was the title of Best International High Volume Cocktail Bar, presented at the 12th Annual Spirited Awards by Tales of the Cocktail.

Standing out as the only non-UK bar to win one of the international awards – and a mighty prestigious one at that – the representatives from the Clumsies team, Nikos Bakoulis and Thanos Tsounakas, received loud applause as they took to the stage at the awards, held at the Orpheum Theater in New Orleans. Bakoulis thanked the entire team working “behind the scenes” at the Clumsies, referring to all the bartenders, servers, chefs, and others.

The Clumsies is currently also placed as number 6 on the World’s 50 Best Bars list, and is widely recognized as one of the world’s major influencers in the field of cocktails, organizing and participating in plenty of events throughout the year, helping to put Athens on the map as one of the hottest fine drinking destinations worldwide.

The evening’s biggest winner was the American Bar at the Savoy Hotel in London, winning the titles of World’s Best Bar, Best International Bar Team, and Best International Hotel Bar.
