Nafplia Palace: A Luxurious & Historic Embrace

Unprecedented luxury in historical surroundings

LOCATION

Akronafplia in the Peloponnese, half a kilometer from the center of Nafplio, 140 km southeast of Athens.

BACKGROUND

Built in 1979 within the 3rd-century BC acropolis of Akronafplia, the sophisticated and modern Nafplia Palace Hotel & Villas, renovated in 2005, offer unprecedented luxury in historical surroundings and magnificent views over the bay and the Venetian fortified island of Bourtzi. If you get tired of pampering yourself in the hotel, you can set out to explore three world heritage sites: the archaeological sites of Epidaurus, Mycenae and Tiryns, all within 15 and 25 minutes away. Or if you prefer a more contemporary and cosmopolitan alternative, you can take the hotel lift that tunnels down through the rock of Akronafplia to the coastal city of Nafplio for a romantic walk in one of the Peloponnese’s most picturesque locations.

FEATURES

The 48 standard and luxury rooms and three family suites with sea views located in the Nafplia main building, as well as 33 individually designed villas and bungalows, some of which come with private pools, all promise to satisfy the discerning guest seeking top-notch amenities, comfort and relaxation.
For swimming and sunbathing, there is an outdoor freshwater swimming pool, fully serviced with deckchairs, umbrellas, showers and pool service, and a freshwater infinity pool reserved for villa guests.
If you are in the area for business, there are four meeting rooms that can cater for up to 316 people. With state-of-the-art equipment, they are ideal for hassle-free events or corporate meetings. Parking facilities and heliport access are also available.

FOOD & DRINK

Depending on your mood, there are three restaurants and two bars to choose from. The Ilios Main Restaurant, overlooking the pool, serves food throughout the day, from a hot and cold breakfast buffet to freshly prepared Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. Kafenion, an outside ouzeri (ouzo bar) by the pool, offers homemade Greek meze starters, fresh salads and desserts. The more upscale Amimoni, an à la carte restaurant with an extensive wine list, affords fabulous views through floor-to-ceiling glass windows, making it ideal for a romantic dinner.
If your mood calls for a drink, the Pool bar offers magnificent vistas of the bay and is a perfect place to relax and be refreshed. Alternatively, you can chill out at the Veranda bar and enjoy panoramic sea views over coffee, drinks, snacks and desserts.
