Kyrimai Hotel: Country Chic Elegance

Imposing architecture and fairy tale charm in Mani.

LOCATION

In the little port of Gerolimenas in Mani, a 90 minute drive from Kalamata Airport.

BACKGROUND

Kyrimai’ hotel was once the store, residence and warehouse of Michalis Katsimantis, a local trader who back in the 1870s would supply the whole of the Mediterranean Sea with products from Mani. The property has been converted into a hotel by the Kyrimis family, hence the hotel name, which comes from the biblical phrase ‘Kyrios imon’ (our Lord).

The original materials, mainly stone and wood, have been used throughout and the whole process of restoration has been carried out with particular care and respect for tradition and in strict accordance with the architecture and geometry of the buildings. The result is unique – a complex of stairways, arches and internal courts situated in a privileged position on the edge of the sea with a view of Gerolimenas natural bay.

FEATURES

22 different rooms and suites of country chic elegance are spread around the complex, offering sea, village or courtyard views. All of them marry the local stone and dark wood with a palette of earthy colors and exquisite rustic furnishings. If you are looking for a romantic abode, you can opt for the Master Suite occupying the area where the library of the family used to be back in the 1870s. It offers sea views, a little balcony from which you feel you can almost touch the sea, plus a fireplace and a jacuzzi promising coziness and relaxation.

If, on the other hand you are traveling with a child, you can opt for your own original 1870s Maniot tower house, which comes with a double and a single bed, and travel back to a time of knights and damsels in distress. It is located in the middle of Kyrimai Hotel’s building, offering panoramic views to the open sea and Gerolimenas bay and village. During the summer, the pool is an obvious attraction.

FOOD & DRINK

At the hotel’s restaurant, you can explore Greek flavors accompanied by internationally acclaimed wines chosen by the in-house sommelier.
