According to the same source, Nolan was seen at the port of Pylos yesterday afternoon, accompanied by his cinematographer. The two spent a significant amount of time aboard the vessel that will be serve as the penteconter (a type of ancient ship) of Odysseus in the film, inspecting the hoisting of sails and other technical details.
The arrival of Nolan, his close collaborators and some of the film’s lead actors in Messinia indicates that filming is set to begin soon. However, it remains unclear whether other members of the cast will also arrive in the near future, as it has not been disclosed who else will be taking part in the scenes planned for this location.
