To commemorate 150 years of continuous operation, the landmark hotel is hosting a series of events over the course of 2024, entitled “Hotel Grand Bretagne 150 Years: Always Grand.” To launch the year-long celebrations, the hotel will present an immersive audiovisual experience, inviting viewers to embark on a captivating journey through its rich and dynamic past.

From February 11 to 18, the hotel’s iconic Grand Ballroom will host daily screenings of “A Journey Through Time: The Immersive Experience,” a spectacular extravaganza that seamlessly blends images, sounds, and stories that narrate the hotel’s history. The exhibition will use projection mapping on the surfaces of the ballroom to create a truly immersive and unforgettable experience.
From the important role the hotel played in the revival of the modern-day Olympic Games in 1896, as a military headquarters during World War II, and the formation of the Government of National Unity in 1974, following the fall of Greece’s military dictatorship, viewers will explore many of the most formative moments in the country’s modern history.
