A luxury resort in Kefalos, on Kos, was found to be the among the three best hotels in the world, at this year’s Travelers’ Choice Awards for Hotels by popular travel site Tripadvisor.
The hotel in question is Ikos Aria, which placed third on the list of the best hotels all over the world, and at the top list in the subcategories “Hotels on the Water,” “Luxury hotels,” and “All-Inclusive Resorts.”
“An absolutely beautiful hotel in the most stunning of locations. With immaculately kept grounds, a wide sandy beach, crystal clear seas and views of the beautiful island,” reads the excellent featured review chosen by Tripadvisor for the award page.
Turkey did notably well, with two hotels listed in the top ten. The top ten awarded hotels in 2022 are:
- Tulemar Bungalows & Villas: Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica
- Hotel Colline de France: Gramado, Brazil
- Ikos Aria: Kefalos, Greece
- Romance Istanbul Hotel: Istanbul, Turkey
- THE OMNIA: Zermatt, Switzerland
- Kayakapi Premium Caves: Urgup, Cappadocia Turkey
- Six Senses Laamu: Olhuveli Island, Maldives
- Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort: Hopkins, Belize
- Padma Resort Ubud: Payangan, Indonesia
- BLESS Hotel Madrid: Madrid, Spain
Other Greek hotels on Tripadvisor’s list include apartment complex Anastasis Apartments & Spa in Imerovigli, on Santorini, and luxury accommodation Porto Klaras suites & studios, on Kythnos, listed as number 12 and 13 respectively in the subcategory “Small Stays.” The former is also listed as the 7th “Most romantic hotel”, thanks to, among other things, its incredible views. Another destination suitable for romantics is Lindos Blu Luxury Hotel & Suites on Rhodes, placing 19th.
In the “All-Inclusive” subcategory, we find another two Ikos hotels, namely that on Corfu (listed as number 6) and in Halkidiki (placing 12th). The Corfu hotel also made 11th place in the “Luxury Hotels” subcategory, while another two Halkidiki hotels placed 2nd and 9th in the list of “Family-Friendly Hotels.”
