Aegean Airlines were awarded at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, placing as the number one regional airline in Europe for the 10th consecutive year, and the third best in the world.
A passenger’s choice awards, the World Airline Awards are given to companies based on an annual customer satisfaction survey, where any airline can be nominated. For the 2021 awards, the results were based on a customer survey conducted during a longer period than in previous years, so as to reflect the companies’ work throughout and before the pandemic, the Skytrax website states. Almost 13,5 million travelers from over 100 countries took part in the survey this time.

The airlines that fall into the regional airlines category are those who provide full-service carriers and operate primarily domestic, and/or international flights up to ca 6 hours.
The award for world’s best regional airline went to Bangkok Airways, while JetBlue Airways placed as number two. Quatar Airways took home the biggest title, “World’s Best Airline”.
