On Sunday, October 15, participants in the Athens Photo Marathon will be unleashed on the city. Their task: to capture images related to 4 different themes in the space of just 6 hours. And the best will be rewarded with Nikon Digital Cameras and other prizes
The Athens Photo Marathon is organized by the Hellenic Centre for Photography, in the framework of the Athens Photo Festival, with support from Nikon and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

The goal, according to organizers is to allow participants to interact and to express themselves, by recording through their own lens four given subjects inspired by the urban life and its experience. The winning photographs will be put on display at an exhibition in the Benaki Museum.
The competition is open to anyone regardless of age or nationality. Both amateurs as well as professional photographers can take part as, “technical knowledge of the camera is not a prerequisite for participation, but inspiration and desire for creativity are,” as the organizers write.
Participation is also free of charge – all that is required is a digital camera (with no prerequisites regarding the brand or type of camera).

Online registration is now open here and will be until October 14, although participants are urged to book their places early as registration will close when the upper limit of participants is reached.
