Many hotels and apartments in Ermoupoli are restored neoclassical mansions, turned into boutique hotels. The Vaporia neighborhood has excellent lodgings with great view. There are seaside hotels on the southern coast, such as Galissas, Posidonia, Kini and Megas Gialos.

The village of San Michalis may be sparsely populated, but as the sun goes down people from all over the island flock to this traditional taverna. GETTING THERE
Both Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways run daily from the port of Piraeus. Single tickets for the four-hour trip cost € 30 per adult and € 72 per vehicle. Olympic Air flies daily to Syros at 06.50, except Fridays. Ticket prices for the 45-minute flight vary, depending on availability.
